Amanda lay down in the grass on the front lawn, trying to tan herself. Okay, yes she knew she lacked pigment in her skin, which, made it imposable to get any tan of really any kind, but, she couldn't help it, even though she was aware how hopeless it was, she still enjoyed feeling the warmth against her body that was often as cold as stone.
She often had to lather her body up with blush, as with her brown hair and brown green eyes, having white skin didn't really match, she needed to be a bit tan to look normal. Yes, she was at the Havens now, and she didn't really need to look normal, but, it was for her self now.
She lay on her back, wearing jean shorts and a plain pink T-shirt that she pulled up to expose her babyish belly to the world. It was like a bath, though, it lacked water of course, but it soothed her. Her eyes where closed as she let out fake breaths. Though she didn't ned to, it had become seconed nature, to the point she didn't even think about it, she just did it.
Amanda slid her feet out of the green flip-flops she had on and rubbed her feet back and forth against the grass. Her knees went from flat to a 90 degree angle. It tickeled slightly, but her nerves wheren't quick, or strong enough to send the messages of touch or feel as a normal human would normally be able to.
Amanda sang out the childrens poem that she had learned those so many years ago. Each word came out effortlessly as she sang it in a cheerful little girl voice. Once she had finished, she began to hum teh words, making it a bit more modern sounding.

"Can a maid that is well bred,
Hath a blush so lovely red,
Modest looks, wise, mild, discreet,
And a nature passing sweet,
Break her promise, untrue prove,
On a sudden change her love,
Or be won e'er to neglect
Him to whom she vow'd respect?
Such a maid, alas, I know.
Oh that weeds 'mongst corn should grow,
Or a rose should prickles have,
Wounding where she ought to save!
I that did her parts extol,
Will my lavish tongue control.
Outward parts do blind the eyes,
Gall in golden pills oft lies.
Reason wake, and sleep no more,
Land upon some safer shore;
Think on her and be afraid
Of a faithless fickle maid.
Of a faithless flckle maid
Thus true love is still betray'd.
Yet it is some ease to sing
That a maid is light of wing."
