When the kids first came to the Havens, a piece of their DNA was taken, which was the whole purpose of the Havens in the first place, to understand the mutations in these kids. When the kids first came to the Havens, a piece of their DNA was taken, which was the whole purpose of the Havens in the first place was to understand the mutations in these kids, and heck, a free schooling opportunity for the parents to make their life a bit easier with out a super powered teen on their heads didn't sound half bad. So, it was a win-win situation, parents got a break, and they got their DNA. But the scientists that when experimenting on their DNA tried to clone it, like a Dolly the sheep type thing, since it'd be cruel to do it on actual people, but regenerating cells is a different story.
After two years, they have managed to make identical organisms to the teens, but they are a few years younger seeing as thought the DNA taken was younger than they are now. But since 2 years difference isn't exactly major, the clones are sent back to the kids’ parents, as they have been taught that they are the real teens and such. With the kids back with the parents, the parents believe that their child has been "cured" The parents stop contacting the real kids, but even with the few times that the kids did speak to their parents, the kids feel shut out, and even more ignored.
When one of the kids tries to go see his/her parents to see what’s up, he/she is stopped by one of the CIA agents, as now the government is involved. The government doesn’t want the outside world to know of this breakthrough in technology of cloning. The Havens soon becomes less lieke a school, even less than it was before, and begins to be like a holding area, where test on the kids take place. Like animal testing, only on humans. It is a group of CIA agents from the government, and a few selective scientific minds and their trying to keep the technology break through very hush-hush.
But the clones that they shipped back on home to the kid’s parents had powers as well, perhaps not as strong, or clear, but they do have them. The parents discover this and ship the clone they thought where their ‘cured’ child back to the Havens and the CIA agents are forced to lock them up with their originals. Great minds think alike....
The kids devise a plan to do more damage then just kill their captor’s like they did in the past, the kids are tired of being killing machines; instead they decided something more ruthless. They’re going to tell. They know that if word spread about what all has happened at the Havens, and not the sugar coated version that was fed to the media, would completely renew the way everyone looked at them.
